Request a Building Inspection

For permits issued in the City's new permitting system MGO Connect, inspections are scheduled via the MGO Customer Portal.

Open your Project from your Dashboard, and then click on "Request Inspection"

Use the "Type" dropdown to select the type of inspection you would like to schedule.

Click on the "Calendar" Icon next to "Requested Schedule Date" to open a calendar and select your desired inspection date.

Use the dropdown to select your desired inspection window. Your inspector will call you in the morning on the day of your inspection to confirm the time window.

Please make sure to enter the telephone number for your on-site contact in the Notes field.

To schedule an inspection on a permit that was issued in our legacy permitting system, call 650-616-7076. Please have the permit number, type of inspection, and contact person's phone number available. Inspections should be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Inspection time frames are in the morning (8 am- 12 pm) or in the afternoon (1 pm -4 pm).

Please note that the cutoff for Next-Day Inspections is 3 pm. Cancellations must be made by 3 pm the day prior to the scheduled inspection to avoid incurring a re-inspection fee.

Planning Inspections

Projects that received planning entitlement(s) from the Architectural Review Committee or Planning Commission or include architectural features that must conform with design guidelines will also require a final inspection by the planner. The applicant may request planning inspections or may also be coordinated with the Building Inspector during the final building inspection.
