In 2009, the City adopted the General Plan with an Economic Development chapter. This chapter focused on the provision of resources and incentives for business retention and
expansion, primarily in retail, professional offices, and technology firms, and the revitalization of sites with industrial and commercial uses.
The City Council adopted two City Strategic Initiatives related to Economic Development in May 2023. The City’s Economic Development program is focused on:
- Develop an Economic Development initiative around attracting businesses and developers to execute on the Transit Corridor Plan vision; and
- Develop an Economic Development program focused on small, medium, and large businesses.
