Organizational Information

The Department responds to over 32,000 calls for service a year. To adequately handle this call volume the Department is separated into two primary Divisions; Administrative Services and Field Services. Each Division is headed by a Lieutenant.

Administrative Division

This Division is responsible for:

  • Investigation Services Section
  • Property and Evidence
  • Communications, including:
    • Call Taking
    • Records and Dispatch
    • Emergency Services
    • Licensing and Grant Management
    • Special Events

Field Services Division

The Field Services Division is the largest and most visible of the two Divisions. Both the Patrol and Traffic sections handle the overwhelming majority of the total calls handled each year. Additionally, this Division oversees Community Service Officers, Canine Program, Regional Task Force Participation as well as Traffic Safety and Parking.
