SAN BRUNO MUNICIPAL CABLE IS PROGRESSING!
The addition of digital cable technology to the cable system afforded the capability to offer 200 channels plus 45 channels of music we enjoy today. Video on Demand service, part of the digital package, allows viewers to see select programs at their convenience and gives them access to pay-per-view movies and events.
Recently, San Bruno Cable removed the analog pay-per-view access and migrated those customers to a digital platform. To prepare for a fully digital system, San Bruno Cable is running a dual cable system, the current system we have today, plus a completely digital system. Click here to review the time schedule for turning off Analog Channels.
We are offering two free standard digital converters to each San Bruno Cable customer during the switch to digital. Subscribers may continue to enjoy the same services, for the same price, and because of the dual system no additional changes would be required at this time. Customers also have the option of upgrading to DigiStar service.
For those customers with more than two outlets, expanded basic service is still be available on all TV’s until 2009. An option to lease additional converters for $1.95 a month will be available.
On July 1, 2007, premium analog channels on channels 62-67 (Showtime, HBO, Encore, Starz, Movie Channel and Cinemax) were removed from the analog channel service and offered only with a digital set-top box, the way they are with all other cable and satellite providers today. Those subscribers with these services will need to connect their set-top boxes before this date to receive the premium services, on the following channels: Showtime 576, HBO 551, Cinemax 561, Movie Channel 591, Starz 534 and Encore 518.
