Digital TV Transition
After February 17, 2009, a television receiver with only an analog broadcast receiver will require a converter box to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite services, gaming consoles, VCR's DVD players and similar products.
Information about the DTV transition can be found at www.dtv.gov or San Bruno Cable TV. For information on subsidized coupons for over-the-air digital-to-analog converters visit www.dtv2009.gov or call 1-888-DTV-2009.
If you are a San Bruno Cable TV customer, you should have received two free cable TV digital converters. If you have already connected your digital converters to your TV sets, you are fully prepared for the digital transition for those televisions. Additional converters are available for $1.95/ month for additional TV's.
San Bruno Cable TV will begin moving channels for the digital transition in June 2008 to be in full compliance by the February 17, 2009 deadline.
